The Auburn Fire Rescue Department opened its doors to the community last Saturday prior to their 100th anniversary. In addition to having a close up look at the big red trucks, guests were able to participate in some firefighting drills, experience the Safe House, go for a ride in the bucket of Tower 1, and, of course, eat some pizza generously provided by Papa Gino’s.
The faces of the children are priceless during these events, and, who knows, one or two may develop that burning desire to help others by becoming a firefighter, EMT or paramedic. Like so many stories, many pages of writing are nowhere as exciting as some great photographs. Have a look.
