Cancer survivors, caregivers, volunteers, and neighbors will gather for the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life of Central South County this weekend. Guests will hear how the community has benefited from funds raised, celebrate cancer survivors, remember and honor loved ones in an emotional luminaria ceremony and learn how to fight back against the disease.
Teams and individual participants can register on-site and donations will be accepted.
This unique overnight fundraiser will include themed laps, raffles, and special guest, Trax. There will be a survivors and caregivers lap at 6:15 p.m. on Friday, and the Luminaria Ceremony will be held at 9 p.m.
The Relay For Life movement unites communities across the globe to celebrate people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and take action in the mission to end the pain and suffering caused by cancer. Relay For Life events are community gatherings where teams and individuals camp out at a school, park, or fairground and take turns walking or running around a track or path. Individuals and teams raise funds and awareness. Donations fund disease research, patient support, prevention info and education, and detection and treatment.
The event will be held Friday, Sept. 8 starting at 6pm to 10:30am on Saturday, Sept. 9 at Lemansky Park in Auburn, MA. More information can be found ar www.RelayForLife.org/CentralSouthCountyMA. You may also contact Kathleen Reynolds at 603-560-2273 or Kathleen.firstname.lastname@example.org
