Donovan Biron, an employee of Midstate Auto Group, along with dancing partner Michelle Duclos took top honors at Saturday’s Dancing with the Stars presented by Auburn Youth & Family Services. Second place was captured by Auburn firefighter Rick Nicholson and Caitlin Foley who danced to a Mary Poppins Medley, and third was won by SWIS assistant principal Michael Lavalle and Megan Berg with their rendition of Lady and the Tramp.
The other performing couples were Steve Brutus and Carrie Callahan – The Best Dance of the Night; Ziad El-Nemr and Kat Damian – Arabian Night; Gary Cedrone and Jessica Gleason – Lion King; Lionel Berthiaume and Sally McDermott-Heaney – Frozen; and Chris Raymond and Kate Stanley – The Jungle Book. Brett Jacobson and Heather Gough, performing Pocahontas, were unable to attend due to a family emergency, but a video of their dance was shown to the audience.
In its eighth year, Auburn’s Dancing with the Stars remains a major fundraiser for the non-profit Auburn Youth & Family Services. The recruited dancers may not be the best, but they sure are entertaining. Many businesses and individuals contribute to making this event so successful, and their efforts are sincerely appreciated.
This year’s Gold Sponsor was Webster Five Cents Bank, and the Silver Sponsor was Savers Bank. Bronze sponsors were Emerson Realtors, Everybody’s Fitness Center and Midstate Auto Group. Thanks to all who contributed, sponsored, or attended.
