On Friday afternoon, 3 individuals and one team were inducted into the Auburn High School Athletic Hall of Fame. Hall of Fame Chair Nicole Vecchio emceed the event at the Elks with the help of Athletic Director Brian Davis. Renee Morin sang the National Anthem at the opening.
Patty O’Leary, Class of 1977, was introduced by her daughter Kate Robatell. O’Leary played 2 years of varsity field hockey, 3 years of varsity basketball, and 4 years of varsity softball where she played every minute of every inning all four seasons. She was MVP her sophomore and senior years and an all-star all 4 years as well.
Former teammate Lindsey Mastrototoro introduced Amanda Brodeur Brotherton, Class of 2004, who played 2 years of varsity basketball, 2 years of varsity indoor track, 2 years of varsity track and field, and 4 years of varsity soccer where she was a SWCL all-star for 4 years, a Central Mass all-star for 3 years, and a All-State all-star for 3 years. Amanda went on to D1 William & Mary where she played another 4 years of soccer.
Former Coach Andrew Niedzwicki introduced Jeff Kozik, Class of 2005. He played 2 years of varsity baseball, 3 years of varsity soccer, and 3 years of varsity basketball where he was a SWCL all-star for his junior and senior years and a Central Mass all-star in his senior year. Kozik received the Coaches Award for both soccer and basketball and went on Fitchburg State where he played basketball for 4 years.
Football Coach Jeff Cormier proudly introduced his 2005 team and former Co-Captain Andrew Martin accepted the recognition for the team that had a 12-0 season and were also super bowl champions.
