Every girls hockey game in Auburn begins with great team spirit, a supportive group of spectators, and a sense of hope. No matter the final score, the Rockets do not give up and push themselves through the final seconds until the buzzer sounds.

When Medway came to town last Saturday, the girls put up a good fight, and the game looked promising. At the end of the first period, the Mustangs were up 1-0, and that is a decent score. A goal by Katie Mason in the second showed that the home team was in the game. Nicole Bousquet had the assist, and this goal is in frames 7 and 8 of today’s slideshow.

Medway’s score in the second kept them ahead, 2-1, at the end of the period, and the visitors were able to open it up in the third with four more goals. The final 6-1 victory by the Mustangs does not reflect the great effort made by the Lady Rockets.

Colleen Fellows had 33 saves for Auburn and did a terrific job when being pummeled in the net.
