BOSTON – State Senator Michael Moore (D-Millbury) was recently appointed by Senate President Stan Rosenberg (D-Amherst) to serve on the Committee on Education for the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL). Senator Moore will represent Massachusetts at national conferences with legislators from across the country to discuss issues facing MA residents and to share ideas with lawmakers around the country, and illustrate how the Commonwealth continues to be a leader among states.
“Congratulations to Senator Moore on his appointment to NCSL” said Senate President Stan Rosenberg. “Senator Moore’s intellect, work ethic, and experience will be a tremendous contribution to NCSL.”
“I am honored to serve in this capacity at the national level, and to collaborate with colleagues from across the country” said Senator Moore. “If there’s one thing I’ve learned during my time in public service it’s that many issues aren’t unique to one particular community or state; by sharing ideas on how to address common problems, we are not only in a better position to address the issue, but are more effective at determining what strategies are the most effective.”
Founded in 1975, the National Conference of State Legislatures is a national organization to support, defend and strengthen state legislatures. According to their website, they have “helped states remain strong and independent by giving them tools, information and resources to craft the best solutions to difficult problems.” NCSL has fought against unwarranted actions in Congress and has saved states more than $1 billion
