Auburn played a solid game on Friday defeating D1 Shepherd Hill 3-2.
Jianna Baroni scored at 16 minutes in with an assist by Kayla Almstrom. At 12:18 Jordyn Abasciano scored assisted by Colleen Cutting. The Rockets would end the half up 2-0.
It took 60 minutes of play for the visiting Rams to find the net. Megan Dunn had an unassisted goal for the Hill, but Baroni would strike 6 minutes later. Cutting earned her second assist for the afternoon. With less than 2 minutes left Ciara McKissick gave the Rams their second goal, and the match ended with Auburn ahead 3-2.
Although Shepherd Hill has a tough team, they are 5-6-1 in SWCL while Auburn is 8-2-1 earning them a spot in the playoffs. Offensively, the Rockets outshot the Rams 31-11. Sarah Fahey had 9 saves for Auburn to their opponent’s 10. The Rockets had 2 corners to the Ram’s none.
