United Soccer of Auburn’s Girls U14 team won the Midland Area Youth Soccer U14 division 2 championship on Saturday, June 16. The team, coached by Chantalle Diamond, Adam Johnson and Jeff LaBonte, will play in the Mass Tournament of Champions (MTOC) this coming weekend at Progin Park  – the Massachusetts Youth Soccer complex – in Lancaster, Mass.

The team finished the regular season 4-1-3, earning an 8 seed in the 10 team playoff format. They went on to win four straight, defeating #9 Quabbin, #3 Worcester, #2 Shrewsbury and #1 Spencer enroute to the championship. The team scored 13 goals while giving up only 4 in those 4 games. The team is 8-1-3 going into MTOC.

For many of the girls on the team, this is their second MAYS championship and trip to MTOC.  The team won the Girls U12 division 2 championship in 2016, finishing that season 12-3-1.

Midland Area Youth Soccer (MAYS) is one of 13 leagues statewide that comprise the town-based soccer programs in Mass. MAYS is comprised of clubs from Central Massachusetts from Warren to Shrewsbury, north to Sterling and south to the Mass./RI border. There are 26 towns/clubs that belong to MAYS.

The team is coached by Chantalle Diamond, Adam Johnson and Jeff LaBonte.
