The Town of Auburn Fire Rescue Department, a progressive public safety agency with strong community ties, will be holding an entrance examination on Wednesday December 6, 2017 for the purpose of hiring on call firefighters. The fee for the examination is $30.00.

Minimum requirements include high school diploma or GED, non-smoker, valid MA driver’s license. Candidates should be customer service oriented.

Candidates will be subject to several interview panels and a rigorous background investigation as part of the hiring process. Successful candidates who are not already certified as Firefighter I/II, First Responder or Haz Mat Operational Level will be required to obtain certification as a condition of employment. This requires approximately 300 hours of initial training at the Massachusetts Fire Fighting Academy. Successful candidates will also we required to participate in bi-weekly training and subject to call back. Probationary period for this position is 2 years. Candidates must reside within the Town of Auburn.
