The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) has announced there will be off-peak, overnight ramp closures at several locations along I-90 (the Massachusetts Turnpike) on Tuesday, September 5, in order to allow crews to safely and effectively carry out construction operations.

Travel lanes on I-90 east and westbound will remain open during this overnight construction work. The full traffic impacts for these operations are as follows:

  • Between 10 p.m., Tuesday, September 5, and 5 a.m., Wednesday, September 6, the Route 12 northbound and I-290 westbound on-ramps to access I-90 at Exit 10 (Auburn) will be closed. Traffic looking to access I-90 at this location will be directed to follow the detour signage in place.
  • Between 9 p.m., Tuesday, September 5, and 5 a.m., Wednesday, September 6, the I-90 Exit 10A (Millbury) eastbound and westbound off-ramps will be closed.  Traffic looking to exit I-90 at this location will be directed to follow a detour route that utilizes Exits 10 and 11.
  • Between 10 p.m., Tuesday, September 5, and 5 a.m., Wednesday, September 6, the I-90 Exit 13 (Natick/Framingham) eastbound and westbound on-ramps will be closed. Traffic looking to access I-90 at this location will be directed to follow the detour signage in place.

MassDOT encourages travelers to seek alternate routes and be mindful of possible delays, allow extra time to reach their destinations, and devote their full attention to the roadway when traveling through these work zones. Appropriate signage will be in place to guide travelers to the detour routes during these times.

All work is weather dependent and subject to change without notice.
