Wendell C. Sorenson, 89, of Auburn died Monday July 17, 2017.

Wendell was born in Worcester son of the late W. Clifford and Alice (Hill) Sorenson and was a lifelong resident of Auburn. He graduated from Auburn High School on 1945.

Wendell started working with his father at Sorenson’s Garage in 1946 and built the business to a full service auto repair shop, retiring in 1986.

He wife Nancy W. (Nideur) Sorenson died in 2010. He leaves his three sons, Jeffrey L. Sorenson and his wife Sandra of Auburn, NY, William C. Sorenson and his wife Nancy of Charlton and David J. Sorenson of Worcester; Eleven grandchildren, and eighteen great grandchildren. He was predeceased by two sons, Peter F. and Gary W. Sorenson; two sisters, Alice Jean Place and Joanne Beach.

Wendell was an avid bowler, fisherman and loved to work in his garden. He was always supportive of his family and was very proud of their accomplishments.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Wendell’s family on Friday, July 21, 2017 from 10-11 am in the BRITTON-WALLACE FUNERAL HOME, 91 Central Street, Auburn. A service celebrating his life will begin at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Auburn
