Considering the mess that Mother Nature dumped on Auburn during Saturday, it’s impressive that any high school games happened at all yesterday. There were two major factors that made it possible, artificial turf and concrete. A decent day on Sunday and tons of sun on Monday also are worthy of an assist.

Grafton was the opponent as both schools opened their spring seasons. Varsity baseball and girls varsity tennis played at home on turf and concrete respectively, but varsity softball had to be postponed due to the grass field. Senior Josh Tower hit a triple in the first inning that scored two of his teammates, and the Rockets went on to win 3-1.

Girls tennis wasn’t as lucky as the Indians took the match 5-0, but over in Grafton, the Rockets claimed a 3-2 victory. Good luck to all the Auburn teams as the season gets underway.
