Most of the Auburn fans were barely in their seats last Wednesday when the Rockets scored their first goal against Ludlow. 36 seconds after the puck drop, Cameron Prosser hit the net assisted by Kory Fortier and Ryan Slade. 27 seconds later, Jacob Miller made the second score with assists by Zach Davey and Will Sjogren.

Less than 3 minutes into the second period, Miller scored again with Davey and Sjogren assisting. Auburn’s forth goal came in another 3 minutes thanks to Slade with Fortier and Jordan Bartlett assisting. 2 minutes into the third, Alex Surmis scored and the home team had a comfortable 5-0 lead. Miller and Fortier assisted on the latest score.

At 11:34 if the third, Ludlow finally showed a pulse as Logan Cognac scored an unassisted goal for the visitors, but Fortier answered 4 minutes later to neutralize the Lions’ score. Cam Dungey had the assist. Aidan McBride added one more Ludlow score, but the Rockets held on for a 6-2 victory.

Sophomore Cameron Carpenter had 16 saves for the Rockets while Mike Young had 29 against the hard shooting Auburn offense. The Rockets are now 8-6-3 on the season.
