Town Clerk Debra Gremo has announced that nomination papers are now available for May’s Town Election. Papers can be picked up during normal hours at the Town Clerk’s Office. Elected office positions require 50 signatures from registered Auburn Voters while Town Meeting candidates must obtain 10 signatures from their own precinct. Papers must be returned to the Clerk’s office by 5:00PM on March 29th.

The following positions are open this year:
One Auburn Housing Authority Member for Five Years
Two Library Trustees, Auburn Free Public Library for Three Years
One Library Trustee, Auburn Free Public Library for One Year
One Moderator for One Year
Two School Committee Member for Three Years
Two Board of Selectmen Members for Three Years
One Southern Worcester County Regional Vocational School Committee Member for Three Years

Precinct One 8 to be elected for Three Years
1 to be elected for Two Year unexpired term
Precinct Two 8 to be elected for Three Years
1 to be elected for One Year unexpired term
Precinct Three 8 to be elected for Three Years
1 to be elected for One Year unexpired term
Precinct Four 8 to be elected for Three Years
1 to be elected for One Year unexpired term
1 to be elected for Two Year unexpired term
Precinct Five 8 to be elected for Three Years

Additionally, the Auburn Library Board of Trustees is currently seeking applicants to fill the remainder of an elected term vacated by a current member that resigned. The term of appointment will be until the Annual Town Election, May 16, 2017. Anyone interested should send a letter of interest and resume to the Library Board of Trustees c/o 102 Central Street, Auburn, MA 01510 by January 31. If someone is appointed until the Annual Election they will then need to take out nomination papers and run for the 1-year term shown above.
