Yesterday afternoon, the Swanson Road Intermediate School’s Honor Choir performed at the Auburn Senior Center on Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day.

The Grade 4 and Grade 5 students, under the direction of music teacher Krissy Caruso, sang traditional patriotic favorites and even mixed in some Sinatra which the audience loved.

More modern hits like “The best day of my life” by American Authors and “God Bless the U.S.A.” by Lee Greenwood were well received, and John Denver was also in the house.

The students took the opportunity to recognize the veterans in the audience with original writings and cards, and it was nice to know that today’s students are being taught important lessons from the past.
