Lucille M. (Chase) Magowan, 93, passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2016, in Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center of Northborough, after a period of declining health.

Her husband, James L. Magowan, died in 1989.

She leaves three children: Robert J. Magowan and his wife, Donna (Smith) Magowan, of Blusston, SC, Allan K. Magowan of Dudley, and Deborah A. Talisman and her husband, Russell M. Talisman, of Auburn; two grandchildren: Kelly A. Howarth and her husband, Edward, of Worcester and Erick K. Magowan and his wife, Michele, of Temple, TX; three great grandchildren; a sister, Audrey Vandal and her husband, Robert, of West Springfield; and nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, Benjamin and Eva (Mathieu) Chase; a sister, Evelyn Taylor; and three brothers: Raymond, Clarence and Norman Chase.

She was born in the Wilkinsonville village of Sutton on July 8, 1923, and later lived in Worcester, Uxbridge, and Auburn before moving to Northborough in 2015.

Mrs. Magowan worked as a fitter for the Jamesbury Corp. in Worcester for many years before she retired in 1988. She was a member of Assumption Catholic Parish in Millbury.

Over the years, she enjoyed water skiing on the South Charlton Reservoir, bowling on Monday nights, playing cards, and travel. More recently, she looked forward to going to the Millbury Senior Center to play cards on Thursdays. Most of all, she loved her family and spending as much time as she could with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Mrs. Magowan’s funeral will be Wednesday, January 4, 2017, from Turgeon Funeral home, 56 Main St., Millbury, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M. in Assumption Catholic Church, 10 Waters St., Millbury. Burial will follow in St. Brigid Cemetery, Millbury. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with her family in the funeral home from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, before the Mass.
