The girls varsity basketball team is now 4-1, and last week’s defeat of Bartlett, 50-18, was a great outing for senior captain Colleen Cutting who scored 25 points and also had 7 boards. The Rockets were up 21-9 after one quarter of play, and they were careful not to foul often. Still, they held the Indians scoreless in the second and ended the half 25-9.

Auburn extended their lead to 38-14 after three quarters, and the final 50-18 included 6 points from Shannon Sampson and 4 each for Leah Halloran, Kayley Markvenas and Alexis McGrail. Liz Anusauskas and Krista Marquez both contributed 2.

Coach Nicole LePrevost, who was very pleased with the results, said the team still has to execute set plays better, and the forwards have to participate more. After all, Cutting is a guard.

The JV players also had a terrific game. They led 21-11 at the half and won 37-23.
