Surrounded by family and friends, senior Josh Tower signed a letter of intent yesterday to play baseball for Franklin Pierce University in Rindge, New Hampshire. Seated in the traditional signing spot outside the AHS gymnasium, Tower was joined by his parents Mark and Cheryl and baseball coach Eric Swedberg. Athletic Director Brian Davis made the introductions during the brief event.
Tower plans to major in sports management, and he will be playing on the Dr. Arthur and Martha Pappas Field and likely spending some time in the Dr. Arthur and Martha Pappas Health Sciences & Athletic Training Center. Some years ago, Franklin Pierce received some major support from the Pappas’s, and many benefit from their philanthropy.
Josh Tower’s older brother, Zack, transferred to Franklin Pierce earlier this year and is currently a senior. It is unfortunate that these two won’t suit up to play baseball together in the spring of 2018.
When asked about the upcoming baseball season in Auburn, Josh confidently responded, “We’ll make districts. That’s all we hope for, and then we take it game by game.” Good luck both home and away!
