At 10:30 Thursday morning, the Auburn Fire Rescue Department received a call for a reported structure fire at 31 Pinehurst Ave. First arriving companies found smoke coming from the roof of the home.
The Fire Investigation Unit determined the fire started when contractors working on the home were using a torch. The fire started in the wall and made its way to
the attic. Fire companies arrived on scene quickly and had the fire under control in about 15 minutes.
Auburn Fire Rescue Chief Stephen M. Coleman Jr. said the fire went to 2 alarms and there were no injuries to civilians or firefighters. According to Town Assessor records, the home is owned by William J. Loosemore. The home owners were not displaced and will remain in their home.
