At Monday’s Board of Selectmen’s meeting, Darlene Coyle announced that Republic Services will make a final yard waste pickup on Saturday, December 3rd beginning at 7:00am.
Coyle, the Director of Development & Inspectional Services, told Auburn Mass Daily, “While the weather has been unseasonable warm, mother nature has been holding onto the leaves a bit longer so this extra pickup will allow our residents more time to collect their yard waste and get it ready for the final pickup. We wish to thank Republic and the residents for their flexibility in getting this service scheduled. Should you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the Department of Development & Inspectional Services at 508-832-7703.
Coyle added, “If there is a problem with leaf pickup, residents can call our office. I want to know if there are problems so I can address them. If they don’t call me, I don’t know about the issues.”
Town Manager Julie Jacobson also told AMD, “This Saturday would be too soon and open for criticism with such short notice and Republic does not have staff available for the following Thanksgiving holiday weekend. So by adding an additional pickup in two weeks, we will have plenty of time to notify customers and give people enough time to get their yard waste prepared. Republic is great to work with and we are glad that they are flexible and willing to meet the needs of our residents.”
