The sixth annual “Klepto” 5k to benefit The Major David Brodeur Memorial Foundation will be held Sunday, October 16.

Registration is $30 online, $35 race day. Participants can register at https://racewire.com/register.php?id=5492.  The race will kick off from North American Martyrs Church at 8 Wyoma Dr., Auburn at 1pm. Everyone is invited to run or walk and stay for the post race events.

All participants registered by September 26 will receive a long sleeve tech tee. Shirts are available first come first serve after September 26. There will be food, beer (21+), a DJ, and kids events.  The post race event will feature Wormtown Brewery, Catering Options and DJ services provided by Champagne Toast Entertainment. Race and after party are included in your registration.

Air Force Major David L. Brodeur, formerly of Auburn, MA, died April 27, 2011 at Kabul Airport, in Kabul, Afghanistan. Major Brodeur was educated in the Auburn public schools graduating with honors from Auburn High in 1994. While in high school he played soccer and was an accomplished track and field athlete who won Southern Worcester County League and District Class B individual championships. He served as Treasurer and President of the Student Council and was a member of the National Honor Society; represented Auburn High at the Annual Student Government Day Program sponsored by the Massachusetts State Legislature and received a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition for his service to Auburn High and the Town of Auburn.

Major Brodeur was an F-16 instructor, Flight Commander, and Weapons ADO for the 18th Aggressor Squadron. He was a Senior Pilot with more than 1600 flight hours in fighter aircraft. David is survived by his wife of 11 years and children, Elizabeth and David.

There will be a pre-race packet pick up October 15th 12-4pm at Auburn Fire Department. Please no dogs.
