Current forecasts show a 60% chance of rain tonight and a 90% chance tomorrow, but Auburn High’s Homecoming, the Fall Festival and the Central Massachusetts Energy Fair will go forward although spectators should be prepared for wet weather. In addition to waterproof clothing, guests should think about a warm layer since the temperature will only be in the mid-50’s.
The good news is that many activities are inside the high school so folks can warm up after a game. The first event of the weekend is on Friday night when varsity football faces Tantasqua at 7:00pm.
All other field sports are against Northbridge: 12:00pm – boys JV soccer; 1:00pm – JV field hockey; 1:30pm – girls JV soccer; 2:15pm – varsity field hockey; 3:00pm – boys varsity soccer; and 4:30pm – girls varsity soccer. Boys and girls cross country teams are scheduled to run against Leicester and Southbridge at 3:00pm starting and finishing at the Swanson Road Intermediate School.
Sports photography in wet weather is unpredictable, so a slide show from Monday’s 8-1 field hockey victory over Oxford is attached. The Rockets are now 7-1-1. Good luck to all Auburn teams this weekend.
