West Boylston –  The Worcester County Sheriff’s Office announced today that two members of its Honor Guard will represent the department, in an official capacity, to honor all five fallen police officers who were killed in the line of duty during the Dallas shootings on July 7th.

Their round-trip airfare has been donated by airline carrier Jet Blue.  The sheriff’s department officers will leave for Texas Friday morning where they will also perform official honor guard duties at the wake and funeral services for one of the fallen Dallas police officers, 32 year old Officer Patrick Zamarripa. His services are scheduled for this weekend.

Officer Zamarripa, a U.S. Navy veteran who survived three tours of duty in Iraq had served with the Dallas Police Department for six years. He is survived by his wife, 2-year-old daughter, and stepson. He will be laid to rest at Dallas-Forth Worth National Cemetery.
