Due to the extreme heat and humidity and the prediction for temperatures in the 90’s over the next three out of four days, the Town of Auburn will be opening a Cooling Center at the Lorraine Gleick Nordgren Senior Center at 4 Goddard Drive for any resident in need of a place to escape the heat and stay cool.

The Cooling Center will be open:

Tuesday, July 26th 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM;
Wednesday, July 27th 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM;
Thursday, July28th 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
The elderly, young children and those with breathing problems are especially susceptible to extreme heat.

All residents are urged to take precautions during the heat wave: stay hydrated and limit outdoor activity and avoid strenuous activity. Do not leave pets outside for extended periods and make sure that pets have plenty of drinking water.
