FITCHBURG, Mass. (June 23, 2016) – The Highlands, a skilled nursing and rehabilitation center, is welcoming a new Executive Director, Michael Brothers.

“Michael has a great team of associates to work with. He truly cares about his residents and staff and I am confident that he will be successful in his new role at the Highlands,” said Alain Bernard, Regional Vice President of parent company Life Care Centers of America’s Walden Region, which encompasses 8 out of the 15 facilities in Massachusetts.

“I love The Highlands,” said Brothers. “It’s like a family. The buildings has history, too. It used to be a nursing school.”

Brothers has been working with Life Care since 2008. He started working as a dietary aide at Life Care Center of Auburn, Massachusetts, and entered the administrator-in-training program in 2014.

“I got involved with Life Care when my grandfather was admitted to Life Care Center of Auburn,” said Brothers. “I started working in the kitchen there and really liked the environment.”

Brothers graduated from Nichols College in Dudley, Massachusetts, with a Bachelor’s degree in business administration. He currently lives in Auburn, Massachusetts.

The Highlands, is located at 335 Nichols Road, in Fitchburg MA.
