Tuesday, May 24, 2016 Auburn Fastpitch Girls Softball played Leicester Girls Softball in the U12 Division at Lemansky Park in Auburn. Both teams came together prior to the game holding hands for a moment of silence for Auburn Police Officer Ronald Tarentino, who lived in Leicester with his family.

After the game the girls from both teams carried candles and flowers up to the Auburn Police Station. After a silent prayer each player, coach and the game’s umpire placed their candle and flower at the make shift memorial of flowers at the station.

The first one was presented to officers inside the station and second went home with the Leicester team so they could present it to the Leicester Police Department as Officer Tarentino was a member of their department prior to transferring to Auburn.

After they returned to the field. There the girls from both teams shared snacks, conversation and taking pictures with one another.
