The 2016 Town Election did not draw a lot of attention, at least from Auburn’s eligible voters. The preliminary numbers look like about 14% showed up to cast a ballot, and the winners in the contested races are Lionel Berthiaume for Selectman and Chester S. Stencel, Jr. for Town Moderator.

Stencel had a landslide victory with 1,158 votes against political newcomer Raffi Vartabedian who gathered 260 votes.

All incumbent and unchallenged candidates easily won their seats as well. Town Meeting Member totals were not available at press time.
