Last Friday and under very sunny skies, 40 athletes from the Auburn Public Schools competed in a Special Olympics event hosted by Leicester Public Schools. 30 instructional assistants and 12 Rockets-to-Rockets students were on hand to help and cheer them on.

The students competed in numerous track & field events, which were modified to accommodate the special athletes. Running events, an obstacle course, the long jump and many other activities kept them busy.

Students from all Auburn schools participated and the principals stopped by to check on their pupils along with the Director of Pupil Services and the Assistant Superintendent.

This was a great event, and viewers can download electronic files free of charge. Prints will be at their normal cost. Nametags on the athletes have been blurred to conceal their identity.
