Brain Injury Association of Massachusetts presents the ‘Think A-Head’: Head Injury Prevention and Awareness Program on;

Monday April 25th 6:30- 7:30 pm at the Auburn Middle School
9 West Street
Auburn, MA

In the past, concussions were thought to be just a part of playing sports, but science and experience has shown us that we need to take this “silent epidemic” more seriously. Come join us for an evening of interactive discussion regarding traumatic brain injury. Hear firsthand from survivor Ryan Farrell as she shares her personal experience with us.

Ryan Farrell’s Story: “While performing with my cheerleading squad at a fundraising exhibition, a flyer on top of my stunt group fell and landed on me. I did not receive immediate medical attention and was encouraged to keep performing. A short time later, I collapsed and did not regain consciousness.” Family, friends, teammates, and co-workers are all affected by a single brain injury.

In addition, an overview of the Auburn School’s Athletic Department’s policy on concussion (and head injury), will be reviewed.

All are welcome to attend this free event sponsored in collaboration with the Auburn School Nurses and the Auburn Board of Health.
