Eftihia Fotos, Auburn Middle School eighth grader, student council president, and Project 351 Ambassador, is holding a movie night fundraiser Friday April 15 at 4pm at Auburn Middle School media center. Admission is $3, and food will be available for purchase. Effie says “Bring pillows, blankets and sleeping bags.”
Fotos was selected as a Project 351 Ambassador by her teachers at AMS, and participated in the Project 351 convention in Boston this past January. Ambassadors represent their community for twelve months, from January of their 8th grade year through December of the 9th grade.
Project 351 is an innovative statewide youth-driven service organization that unites an 8th grade Ambassador from every city and town in Massachusetts for a transformative year of leadership development, enrichment, and impact. Through unique service opportunities, Ambassadors gain valuable skills, create positive change in communities, build a statewide network of values-aligned peers, and unite the Commonwealth in common purpose.
One of the missions of Project 351 is for the ambassadors to come back to their host communities and continue their good works with a project of their own. The Movie Night is Effie’s contribution, and all funds raised will be donated to help the homeless.
Fotos plans to show “The Blind Side”, the 2009 film starring Sandra Bullock, Tim McGraw and Quinton Aaron portraying the life of Carolina Panthers offensive tackle, Michael Oher. The film is rated PG-13 and runs about 2 hours.
