When Oakmont came to town on the 30th, the Lady Rockets were optimistic about a win since that has been the norm for a few years. And while Auburn won 4-2, this was an extra special game for the team and top player Katie Mason who earned her 100th career point in the 14th minute with an assist to Julia Crowley. Mason is the first Lady Rocket to achieve this goal on the ice.

The Rockets wasted no time scoring last week as Carrianne Fortier scored just 34 seconds in with an assist by Hunter Bailey. The Spartans answered 2 minutes later, but in another 2 minutes, Nicole Berthiaume found the back of the net assisted by Julia Crowley.

Oakmont tied it up again in 5 minutes, but then Crowley scored with 34 seconds left. Mason and Anna Sosik were both credited with the assist. Auburn was up 3-2 after one period of play.

There was no scoring in the second period, and with just under 7 minutes left in the third, Sam Moreau hit the net with Bailey assisting. The final score was 4-2, but the perseverance of Oakmont goalie Bridgette Martin deserves recognition since she racked up 41 saves. Colleen Fellows had 15 for the home team.

On Saturday, February 6th, Auburn won 4-1 on the road. Julia Crowley had 1 goal and 3 assists while Katie Mason had 2 goals and 1 assist. Nicole Bousquet had 1 goal and 1 assist.

A great week Ladies!
