At Town Hall yesterday afternoon, Town Clerk Deb Gremo swore in 2 new firefighters and 3 current members who were promoted. Chief Stephen M. Coleman, Jr. led the ceremony while Town Manager Julie Jacobson and Selectman Chair Ken Holstrom (AFRD, Ret.) spoke to those in attendance.

Shawn Steele has been promoted from Lieutenant to Captain. He has been with the Auburn Fire Rescue Department for 16 years, and will now be the Captain of Group 2, replacing Retired Captain Eric Otterson.

Jon Martin has been promoted from Firefighter to Lieutenant. He has been with the Auburn Fire Rescue Department for just about 13 years, and will be the new Lieutenant on Group 2.
Adam Rivers has been promoted from Firefighter to Lieutenant. He has been with the Auburn Fire Rescue Department for 10 years, and will be the new Lieutenant on Group 1.
Skylar Stafford is a new Firefighter. He originates from Oregon, and before moving to Worcester, was on a fire department in Montana. He is a paramedic and is scheduled to attend the Massachusetts Fire Academy in April.

Luis Mateo is a new Firefighter. He lives in Worcester with his family. Luis is a paramedic and is scheduled to attend the Massachusetts Fire Academy in April.
Both Skylar and Luis welcome the opportunity to serve the Town of Auburn as firefighters.

Auburn Mass Daily congratulates all five of these fine men, and we wish them long, safe careers.
