Auburn’s Christine Lloyd, a teacher at Tatnuck Magnet School in Worcester, was recently named Science Teacher of the Year for Worcester County by the Massachusetts Association of Science Teachers. On December 14th, Senator Michael Moore went to Tatnuck to present her with a Senate Citation.

Lloyd not only teaches science but also coaches the Robotic Team at Tatnuck Magnet School. In the Elementary Robotic Scrimmage last April, the team was recognized with the Engineering Notebook Award, the Engineering Award, the STEM Research Project Award, and the Teamwork Champion Award.

Locally, Lloyd coached the Julia Bancroft Robotics Team that won the “Excellence Award” at the Southern New England Regional VEX IQ Highrise Championship at Quinsigamond Community College on March 8, 2015. That team travelled to Kentucky for the VEX Robotics World Championship in April after raising $4775 in just 5 days to offset the cost. Now, she coaches the Swanson Road Intermediate School team.

Lloyd lives in Auburn with her husband, Nick, and two sons.
