When a JV basketball team dominates, it’s a good indication the ensuing varsity players will have similar success. Such was the case Monday night when the JV squad beat Uxbridge, 37-4.

After the Spartans put up 2 points in the first quarter, the Uxbridge fans erupted in a show of excitement that was amazing. A basket does not, apparently, happen often for these hard working girls. The Rockets were up 14-2 after one, and 29-2 at the half.

It wasn’t until the fourth quarter that the Spartans were able to score again, and the final was 37-4 for another Auburn JV victory.

The varsity team had nearly equal success on the court. Auburn was up 17-8 after the first quarter and up 35-10 at the half. The final score of 59-35 reflects a great push by the Spartans as they dropped five 3’s in the second half. Uxbridge had a great third quarter with 19 points scored.

The Rockets were led by Emily Sarkisian who scored 23 points and also recorded 6 rebounds. Colleen Cutting followed with 17 points. Seniors Brianna Courteau had 7 and Hannah Harris scored 6.
