A Winter Weather Advisory is now in effect for much of Central and Eastern MA from 10pm Monday through 1pm Tuesday. Forecasts are still differing on snow accumulations for our area, but it looks to be less than 2″ for the most part, with a changeover to sleet, freezing rain, and rain.
The main danger from this storm will be slippery roads and sidewalks beginning overnight tonight into tomorrow afternoon. The precipitation should change to mostly rain by afternoon, although periods of freezing drizzle can’t be ruled out tomorrow evening.
With the threat of accumulating ice there is always a danger of falling limbs and power outages. Be prepared with flashlights and batteries. Avoid using candles for light and gas stoves for heat, as these can create fire and/or carbon monoxide dangers.
