On Friday after Thanksgiving, four Auburn High athletes assisted local resident Nancy Coppolino with a yard clean up. Unable to tackle this job herself due to a medical condition, she was very pleased to have them lend a hand.

Along with Athletic Director Brian Davis, Jackie Clark (field hockey), Symantha Brothers (girls soccer), Nick Shiner (boys ice hockey), and Adam Clark (boys ice hockey) raked leaves and bagged debris. They also packed Coppolino’s SUV with the bags so she could drive them up to the leaf pile.

Coppolino learned of this service through an article in Auburn Mass Daily, and she was appreciative of not only the service but also of the athletes’ attitudes. After the work was complete she made a nice contribution towards the students’ lunches.

Davis invites elderly or handicapped residents to leave him a message at the high school (508-832-7711) if they too could use a helping hand in their yards.
