Pakachoag Music School of Greater Worcester is pleased to receive the support of the Greater Worcester Community Foundation’s mini-grant program with a $3,000 award.

The award will support a financial systems upgrade designed to ready the school for enhanced strategic decision-making. As part of the upgrade project, Pakachoag will work with a non-profit finance consultant to review its internal accounting structure in order to streamline internal and external reporting.

The project builds on an administrative re-organization begun two years ago which now includes, in addition to the School’s Executive Director, a part-time Student Performance Coordinator, an expanded registrar/office manager position, and a new business manager with an enhanced skill set.

The School has also been awarded a $2400 grant from the Ramlose Foundation to support technology upgrades planned for later this academic year.

Executive Director Sarah Smongeski notes, “We are grateful to receive this recent support as we work to keep our programs accessible to those in need while ensuring efficient and responsive internal management.”

The School has awarded over $32,000 in financial aid for the current school year, a new record. Awards are made based on annual family income.
