Friday was simply a great day for Auburn athletes. Boys Golf started things out with a 5-4 victory over Grafton at Pakachoag Golf Course. Jack Scavone led the Rockets with a score of 42, and the team is now 4-2-1.

Boys soccer defeated Southbridge 9-0 at home while the girls bested Southbridge 9-0 away. The boys are 2-2 while the girls are 2-1-1. While the Pioneers don’t offer a lot of competition in soccer, the confidence gained by the Rockets will hopefully translate into better scoring for the remainder of the season.

Field Hockey defeated Longmeadow 1-0 in Western Massachusetts. The girls were coming off a 1-0 victory over D1 Wachusett, and to top D1 Longmeadow, the defending Western Mass D1 Champions, was quite a feat. Colleen Fellows scored the only game goal with an assist by Shannon Hynes. Abby Lucas had 23 saves for the Rockets who are 3-0.

Memorial Field was the last location for Auburn’s success as they beat Millbury 29-20 under the lights in Friday Night Football. The Rockets fell behind 12-0 in the first quarter but rallied behind TJ Medlin for two touchdowns in the second and one in the third. The Woolies narrowed the gap with a TD and 2-point conversion in the fourth, but Auburn responded with an Avery Lemansky TD to ensure the win.
