A tornado watch is in effect for our entire area until 11pm tonight.  In addition, a severe thunderstorm watch was issued earlier that expired, but will likely be reissued in the coming hour or so.

If you have outdoor plans, keep an eye on the sky and monitor weather closely.

The National Weather Service in Taunton has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... 
  northeastern Windham County in northern Connecticut... 
  southeastern Worcester County in central Massachusetts... 
  northwestern Providence County in Rhode Island... 

* until 515 PM EDT

* at 428 PM EDT... Doppler radar indicated a severe thunderstorm
  capable of producing damaging winds in excess of 60 mph. This storm
  was located near Woodstock... or 18 miles northeast of Mansfield... 
  and was moving east at 50 mph.

* Some locations impacted include... 
  Woonsocket... Smithfield... Lincoln... Webster... Southbridge... 
  Burrillville... Uxbridge... North Smithfield... Dudley... Glocester... 
  Putnam... Thompson... Blackstone... Douglas... Woodstock... Mendon... 
  Pomfret and Millville.

Precautionary/preparedness actions... 

A Tornado Watch is in effect for the area. While not immediately
likely... if a tornado is spotted... act quickly.  Go to a basement or
small interior room of a strong building.
