While details are still limited, Auburn Police Chief Andrew Sluckis, Jr. said Tuesday night’s Witter St. home invasion were targeted, and the attack was not random.  According to the statement, police now believe the victims and the assailants know each other, though the investigation continues.

In the attack, one of the homeowners was injured when he was struck with a handgun, and a pet dog was seriously injured when it was kicked or stomped by one of the assailants.  Two rare breed puppies were also stolen during the robbery.

Police ask anyone with information to contact the APD Detective Bureau at (508) 832-7738.
