He leaves his loving wife of 42 years, Linda G. (Sherman) Penney; three sons, Nelson J. Penney and his wife, Heather of Wareham, Joel D. Penney and his fiancée Joanna Kokolski of Auburn and Eric D. Penney and his partner, Emily Vincent of Auburn; his father, Norman J. Penney of Holden; four grandchildren, Mia, Michael, Elijah, and Olivia; two sisters, Christine Sherman and her husband, Stephen of Rutland and Holly Baker and her husband, Robert of Leicester; also survived by many nieces and nephews
Norman was born in Worcester, son of Norman J. Penney and the late Betty (Webber) Penney. He graduated from Wachusett Regional High School in 1968 and later attended Worcester Junior College.
He had been employed for over 48 years at Shaw’s Supermarkets Inc, as a Department Manager. He also taught woodworking in the Worcester Night Life Program for several years.
Norman enjoyed several hobbies, including, hunting, fishing, gardening, woodworking and woodcarving. He was an Eagle Scout, and an active member of the NRA and The North American Fishing Club.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Jack’s family on Monday, May 11, 2015 from 5:00-7:00 PM in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St, Auburn. A service celebrating his life will be on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at 10:00 AM in the funeral home followed by burial in Hope Cemetery, Worcester.
