Two Auburn teams took first place in the Habitat for Soccer and Sports indoor soccer league in Uxbridge this past Sunday.
The Auburn-based girls U14 team coached by Melissa Standring won the Dragons Division championship, defeating Douglas 4-3 in a thrilling sudden death overtime game. Standrings’ team earned a berth in the title game after topping Uxbridge 4-3 in another sudden death overtime game on Saturday afternoon.
The Auburn-Standring team is Emily Wambach, Sydney Randall, Corrine Oliver, Jillian Lavallee, Meghan Hines, Kayla Norman, Maura Anish, Marika Renner, Liberty Kibbitt, Cassidy McDonald, Ellianna Palumbo, Samantha Perry, head coach Melissa Standring and little Alexis Standring.
The Auburn-based Team Victorious coached by Leo Miranda took first place in the girls U12 Dragons Division. Victorious won a hard-fought game over the Central Mass Bolts on Saturday, 2-1. They returned Sunday morning and prevailed 5-1 over Celtics-Harris to take the division title.
