Raymond A. Perron, 93, passed away peacefully on April 17th, 2015 at Life Care Center of Auburn. He is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Eleanor (Cleary) Perron; daughter, Jacqueline and her husband Philip Anderson of Auburn; daughter, Suzette Laster of Sturbridge; son, Raymond A. Perron II and his wife Marcia of Byfield; his loving grandchildren, Philip Anderson II and his wife Kathleen of Delaware, Tracy and her husband Michael Coolican of Florida, Amie and her husband Brian Fabiano of Ashland, and Nathan Laster and his wife Agnieszka of Sturbridge. His very special great grandchildren: Emily, Ashley, Kylie, Molly, Collin, Emma and Maggie. He also leaves his sister, Laura Jenkner of Charlton.
Born in Worcester, he graduated from Auburn High School in 1940. He entered the National Guard in 1940 and served in the 181st Yankee Division and the 87th Acorn Division in Europe during the Battle of the Bulge. During his long U. S. Postal career, 1945-1980, he was Postmaster of Auburn, MA and Nashua, NH; and Sectional Center Manager/Postmaster of Auburn-Lewiston, ME and Albany, NY. After retiring, he was appointed to the Postmasters Selection Board for the U.S. and Puerto Rico.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on May 2nd at North American Martyrs Church, 8 Wyoma Drive, Auburn, MA. Burial will be at a later time. Memorial donations may be made to North American Martyrs Church.
