When the clock struck 5:00pm at the Town Clerk’s office last night, time was up for potential candidates to be actual candidate for the town election on May 19th, and the candidates are as follows:

Town Clerk – 3 year term Vote for one

Mathew J. Armendo 23 Oakland Dr.
Nicholas Hammond 23 Rock Ave.

A few citizens pulled nomination papers to run for an office but did not return them. The only contests, therefore, are Auburn Housing Authority, Board of Selectmen, and Town Clerk.

Candidates have until April 16th to withdraw from the election if they so choose. After that, their name will be on the ballot. Write in candidates would also have a chance to win. This has been useful in the past for vacant elected town meeting member seats.

The Town Clerk’s office will be open from 8:00am to 8:00pm on April 29th for new voters to register. This is the last registration day to be eligible to vote in the town election. Auburn residents who turn 18 years old by May 19, 2015 are eligible to register.

Finally, Campaign Finance Reports for all candidates are due on May 11, 2015, 8 days before the election.
