Frost-Moore

Senator Michael Moore (D-Millbury) and State Representative Paul Frost (R-Auburn) are pleased to announce that the town of Auburn will be receiving a Justice Assistance Grant award of $21,533. The funds will be used to outfit each police vehicle with a tactical medical bag for officer involved emergencies as well as Vericome vehicle acceleration/friction testing equipment and iPad mounts for cruisers.

“This grant will provide the Auburn Police Department with necessary new equipment that will enhance safety for both the public and local officers,” said Senator Moore, “Given the budget constraints that municipalities face, I am pleased that the department applied for and received this critical funding.”

Rep. Frost said, “This will certainly be helpful in supporting the duties of the Auburn Police Department to serve and protect the community. Funding is tight and this grant can go a long way in supporting our police in town.”

The Executive Office of Public Safety and Security (EOPSS) made approximately $1 million from the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program available for one-time federal funding grants to address law enforcement equipment and technology related needs.
