On Saturday April 18th, members of the Worcester Youth Symphony Orchestra (WYSO) will join the Drew University (NJ) Choral Union and Chorale and perform at the multi-million dollar Dorothy Young Center for the Arts (Madison, NJ). The ensemble will perform Haydn’s Te Deum in C and Beethoven’s masterful Fantasy for Piano, Chorus & Orchestra. The Dorothy Young Center’s Concert Hall is home to the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center and is a touring venue for the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra.

Representing Auburn are trumpets, Cecily Bickford, Kyle Faneuff and Dilon Mastrorio; tubist, Ian Wykes; cellist, Renae Renihan; clarinetist, Lindsay Thunberg; and timpanist, Shay Brooks (who serves as Principal Percussion). The students hail from Bay Path Tech, Pakachoag Music School and Auburn High School, where they play in the highly acclaimed AHS Band Program under director Virginia Bailey.

The seven Auburn students join 55 other students from around Worcester County to form the Worcester Youth Symphony Orchestra. This all-auditioned group rehearses every Saturday at Auburn High School, presents 5-6 concerts per season and is conducted by Music Director Jonathan Brennand.
