Sgt. Ken Charlton of the Auburn Police Department and Fire Chief Stephen J. Coleman will be providing Auburn Boards, Commissions, and Committees with “ALICE” Training. “ALICE” is an acronym for Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, and Evacuate, the five strategies to deal with an active shooter or attacker.
In recent years, we have heard of tragic shootings throughout the country in schools, government buildings and other public places. The Town of Auburn wants to provide its volunteers and employees with tools and strategies to be prepared should an incident ever occur.
ALICE training was provided to Town Hall, DPW, library, and senior center employees in November.
Training for all members of Boards, Commissions and Committees will be held on Thursday March 26th at 7:00PM in the Select Board Meeting Room on the 2nd floor of Town Hall. All board, commission and committee volunteers are encouraged to attend.
