On Sunday, March 8, 2015 a group of six students from the Julia Bancroft Robotics Team competed in the Southern New England Regional VEX IQ Highrise Championship at Quinsigamond Community College. These students worked tremendously hard and won the Excellence Award.
“The Excellence Award is the highest award presented in the VEX IQ Challenge. The recipient of this award is the team that best exemplifies overall excellence in creating a well-rounded VEX IQ program. This team excels in many areas and is a shining example of dedication, devotion, hard work and teamwork. As a strong contender in numerous award categories, this team deserves to be recognized for building a quality robot, delivering an effective STEM Research Project presentation, submitting a well-documented engineering notebook, and demonstrating that their team is committed to excellence in everything that they do.” http://www.robotevents.com/re-viqc-15-1985.html
The team is made up of JB 4th graders Ralph Capaldi, Matthew Hubbell, Neal Grosvenor, Nathan LeBoeuf, Peyton Scopetski, and Anthony Lloyd, 10. Christine Lloyd, a parent and teacher, coaches the robotics group.
This group of students has been invited to attend the Vex Robotics World Championship 2015, in Louisville, Kentucky on April 15-18th. In order to travel as a team, we need your assistance in ensuring each child is afforded this once in a life time opportunity. The team needs to raise about $5,000 to cover the costs of competing at this event.
