Item 8a from the posted agenda for the Monday, March 23rd, Board of Selectmen’s meeting reads, “Request Town Administration to Investigate the Status of the Auburn Motel – by Mrs. Goodrich.”

The Auburn Motel has been reported to be the residence of Mr. Adam Anthony Nielsen who has been arraigned on two charges of indecent assault on a child under 14. He has also been charged with raping a 15-year-old girl at the motel.

When asked about her request, Mrs. Goodrich told Auburn Mass Daily, “I’ve heard from enough concerned parents about their children walking in the area and walking from the middle school to the library.”

“Although it’s quietly tucked behind Dunkin’ Donuts, that property has had numerous issues over the years.”

Goodrich added, “I’m not saying there are violations, but I’m asking the Town Manager to make sure all the town by-laws and regulations are being followed.”

Any investigation will likely involve not only the Town Manager but also the Police Chief, Fire Chief and Code Enforcement Officer.
