BOSTON – Senators Michael Moore (D-Millbury) and Ryan Fattman (R-Webster) are to host Worcester County Senators Anne Gobi (D-Spencer), Jennifer Flanagan (D-Leominster) and Senate Majority Leader Harriette Chandler (D-Worcester) to tour businesses and local human service agencies. The Senators will be joined by Senate President Stan Rosenberg, Senate Minority Leader Bruce Tarr, and other senators from across the state.

The Commonwealth Conversations Tour is a statewide tour of Senate districts led by the local senators to better reach out to local residents, businesses, and interests groups. The objective is to listen directly to the public’s needs and concerns with the hope of fostering more civic engagement while helping each senator learn more about issues within and outside of their own districts.

Sen. Moore’s and Sen.Fattman’s tour will have four stops in their districts. The tour will visit the Upper Blackstone Waste Water Treatment Plant, The Shoppes at Blackstone Valley, Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center and the Whitinsville National Grid Distribution Center where National Grid President Marcy Reed will speak to the Senators in a closed meeting about rising energy costs

The day culminates in a public town hall meeting at UMass Medical School Aaron Lazare Medical Research Building beginning at 6:30PM. The Senators encourage all members of the public to participate in this forum and share their ideas and concerns. All media is invited to attend the public forum.
